Maybe the coach is the interference, most of the time.
The best ones, their unique self expression, their creativity is what allows them to be a category of one.
How often do we get in the way of that?
What impedes great art?
Second guessing.
Over thinking.
Distraction breaking flow.
Doing it for the approval of others.
Helping isn't always helping.

Most meetings are filled with group think.
Before we figured out a solution, have we defined the problem?
That could be a separate meeting.
Everybody write your opinion down before you say it.
Do you make decisions or inherit them?
Am I coaching how I want to coach, as if there were nobody in the room?

The moment in your life when you despised the situation you are in.
Was enough to catalyse you to get the fuck out of there.
When you hated who you were.
Made you say that is enough.
Most repair doesn't come from inspiration.
It comes from fracture.
What's the smallest step the most afraid version of you could take?

The best teachers are not trying to impress you, they are into the learning.
They are willing to drop the idea of looking like a teacher, for the ultimate goal.
The learning and discovery.
You are learning and you didn't know it.
The expert is never looking at things in isolation, they can see the bigger themes and understand their second order impact.
So much of what we see in the media, what people think coaching is, has nothing to do with it.

If you are open, ideas come to you like a vessel.
The worst basketball teams, are a fake version or somebody else.
Without the underlying belief and depth in their identity.
The worst wedding, is the one where everything that surrounds it has no significance of the two people making the commitment.
Whatever idea you can't stop thinking about, is the thing you need to do.

The contrast in his Coachella performance between the softness of his young voice and the depth of his 32 year old voice singing simultaneously, highlights the 16 year difference but the underlying core is the same.
Self expression for the the sake of it. The purity of the lyrics and the music for it's own sake.
Connecting to his younger self, there was a sense of inner healing in the performance.
How do you keep your childlike enthusiasm?
How do you not get lost in the circus?
Continually ask, who am I.
Give yourself space to listen to the answer.
